Your hotel is a gület; a wooden sailing ship!

During the cycling-boating vacation along the Lycian coast, you will stay on a gület, a wooden sailing ship. You will stay in a private room equipped with shower and toilet, the ship is fully equipped.

Day to day

Our driver will be waiting for you at Dalaman airport and take you to the port of Fethiye where you will be assigned your own cabin on board the ship by the crew. From the harbor you can walk right into the cozy center of Fethiye. At the end of the afternoon, it is time for the briefing and a welcome drink. The ship will stay the night in the port of Fethiye.

The first ride of this cycling vacation takes you through the shipyard around the peninsula. You’ll have stunning views of the beautiful bays and azure sea along the way. You cycle here on low-traffic paved roads with the necessary small, short climbs. The road undulates up and down here. Don’t forget to bring your swimming gear because these small bays lend themselves to a wonderful refreshing swim. You will have lunch on board the ship. After lunch, the ship sails to St. Petersburg. Nicholas Island where it anchors. Lovers of antiquities can go sightseeing on the island. Overnight in Gemiler Bay.

After breakfast, the zodiac will take you and bike ashore at Gemiler. From the bay follows an easy climb. Along the way, a magnificent panorama unfolds over the bay where you so briefly started the bike ride. The summit is at about 150 meters. After that it is mostly flat and you first visit the Lycian tombs on the edge of the plateau. You will then cycle towards the Greek “ghost town” of Kayakoy. This Greek town has been completely abandoned since the early 1920s (visit to the town possible at your own expense) After a glass of tea under the plane tree of the Turkish teahouse, you will cycle back to Gemiler bay and the dinghy will take you back to the big ship. Time for a delicious sumptuous lunch! After lunch there will be plenty of time for a cooling dip before the ship sails on to the next overnight location; the bay of Agi Limani.

After breakfast, land in the beautiful bay of Ase. You cycle on an unpaved path out of the valley through rugged nature and settlements of nomads, followed by orchards and small villages. Via the bustling town of Dalaman, the route continues on car-free roads through a hilly landscape..Sulphur springs provide Turquoise colored rivers here. Via pomegranate orchards, Sarsala Köyu is reached and it is time for a cup of coffee or glass of tea. After the break, the road here rises for several kilometers to about 150 meters and passes a picturesque inland lake. At the top of the climb you can already see our final destination for today.

After breakfast, we sail to the port of Göcek. A bus transfer of about 40 minutes will take you to the village of Dalyan, located on a river. In Dalyan, board a boat trip along the river and visit the ancient remains of the ancient city of kaunos. After a sumptuous lunch on board, we sail to Iztuzu beach; one of the beaches where the large sea turtles (Caretta, Caretta) lay their eggs in the fine sand. Afterwards, visit the beneficial sulfur and mud baths located on the shores of Lake Koycegiz. In the late afternoon, our driver will take you back to the fashionable port town of Gocek. Gocek is known for its many stores, cafes and restaurants and, of course, the many luxury ships in the marina.

A short boat ride will take you to Günlüklü Bay. From the bay of Günlükü, cycle along narrow unpaved paths through a wooded area toward Fethiye. The2nd part of this ride is almost entirely along the coast and entirely flat. Through the beach of Çalis and the promenade of Fethiye there is 1 more obstacle awaiting you; a short climb of about 1.5 km on well running asphalt just past the shipyard. Then you will descend to the bay where the dinghy will take you back to the ship. On board, it’s time for a well-deserved delicious lunch.

Finally, plenty of time to float in the cool water, Overnight in Boncuk Bay

After breakfast we sail to the port of Fethiye for the last bike ride of this bike-boating vacation. Today’s route takes you inland through a farming landscape. Just outside Fethiye you will cycle along a canal system, intended for irrigation purposes. The trails along the canals are unpaved gravel paths. Because these canals are slightly above sea level, you will have a nice view of the entire bay along the way. Then we leave these canals and cycle through the green valley with fast-flowing streams. With a little luck, we will encounter another pair of white herons. Then it’s time for lunch by the river and you can enjoy all kinds of delicious homegrown produce in a typical Turkish ambiance.

After lunch, it is time for the last part of the cycling vacation. Through the beach of Çalis, where you can take a last dip in the salty water, you will cycle back to the ship in the port of Fethiye.

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the crew. Our driver will take you back to the airport for your return flight.
