This surprising country in the Balkans is characterized by beautiful nature, rich history and a friendly population. Northern Macedonia has a rich history and this can be seen everywhere, especially the Turkish influences resulting from centuries of domination by the Ottoman Empire can be seen in Northern Macedonian culture.

AL WALKING DISCOVER. You will hike through 2 natural parks and the beautiful Jablanica Mountains during this vacation,. The first 2 days you will stay in the Mavrvovo Natinonal Park in the highest village in the Balkans; Lazaropole. The views are not only breathtaking but you are also staying in the cleanest air in the Balkans. For the next 2 days, your lodging is a cozy accommodation in Vevcani, located on the lower parts of the Jablanica Mountains, the natural dividing line between Albania and northern Macedonia. The flora and fauna around this mountain range here have hardly been affected by man, and this mountain range is also habitat for the rare Balkan Lynx. The last part of your hiking vacation you will stay in Ohrid. Ohrid is a lively city with a rich past and is located directly on Lake Ohrid, one of the oldest lakes in the world. This place is an ideal base for hiking in the nearby Galicica National Park. Ohrid used to be called the place of 365 monasteries; one for every day. There is ample opportunity during this vacation to see some of these beautiful structures during the city walk in the old part of Ohrid.
