The first 3 days of your cycling vacation you will stay in the cozy port town of Fethiye. Fethiye is still a real typical Turkish place and is a bustling place in both summer and winter and enjoys great fame especially among the Turks themselves.

The first 3 days of your cycling vacation you will stay in the cozy port town of Fethiye. Fethiye is still a real typical Turkish place and is a bustling place in both summer and winter and enjoys great fame especially among the Turks themselves.
Day to day
After arriving at Dalaman airport, our driver will already be waiting for you with a chilled bottle of water and will take you in about 45 minutes to the accommodation for the first 3 days in Fethiye. You will stay in a small-scale, typical Turkish hotel run by a hospitable Turkish family who also speak Dutch. Fethiye is situated on a beautiful bay and surrounded by the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Fethiye still has an authentic center, called Paspatur, where you will find all kinds of stores and a fish market surrounded by restaurants where you bought fish is prepared into a delicious meal. The ancient amphitheater is located at the end of the promenade, near the port. The amphitheater at the port and the Lycian rock tombs, remind of the rich history of this area.
Overnight stay in Fethiye
You can choose from 2 different bike routes today. The bike ride around the peninsula is truly beautiful with many azure bays and beach bars where you can enjoy a chilled drink. The beautiful coastal road winds through the landscape, going up and down. During the Farmland Route, you will take a beautiful bike ride through the farming hinterland of Fethiye and cycle through the valley on narrow roads. The route is also characterized by the many authentic villages where it seems as if time has stood still.

The first part of today’s bike route you will cycle along a coastal bike path to the beach area of Fethiye. On the promenade you can enjoy a cup of coffee. You will then cycle through orange groves and follow the river upstream into the valley. We picked a lunch spot right on the fast-flowing river. Everything here comes from our own garden and the homemade bread and olives taste delicious. This is truly Turkey at its best!

Breakfast is followed by an approximately 30-minute transfer to the starting point of today’s bike route. The route begins with a descent, then cycles through a mostly flat area to the lively Dalyan, located on a river delta by Lake Köycegiz. Here you will stay two nights in a cozy hotel with pool. In the evening you can seek out the crowds or you can opt for the many waterfront restaurants.

On your rest day, take a bicycle tour of the area, cycling past the many pomegranate plantations, or take a boat trip visiting Iztuzu beach, the authentic town of Kaunos and the beneficial mud and sulfur baths on the shores of Lake Köycegiz. Of course, you can also lounge by the pool or spend a day at the beach.

Today you will leave Dalyan northward and cycle through the agricultural hinterland of Dalyan through ancient villages. The soil here is very fertile and in this area you will find many fruits. Köycegiz is a wonderful place to stay and is located right on the lake of the same name. It is hard to imagine that this place has lost its popularity to Dalyan over the years.

The last day of cycling is all along the shores of the lake, back to Dalyan. Along the way, you will pass villages such as Hamitköy. These villages were inhabited early in the last century by Indians who worked here in fruit farming. Some of the houses still have a braided structure and were made by Indian workers. The course is hilly on quiet roads. The ferry will take you back to the other side of the river so you cycle the last bit back to the hotel in Dalyan.

The first 3 days of your cycling vacation you will stay in the cozy port town of Fethiye. Fethiye is still a real typical Turkish place and is a bustling place in both summer and winter and enjoys great fame especially among the Turks themselves.
Fethiye is located on a beautiful bay surrounded by the foothills of the Taurus Mountains with a cozy bazar with all kinds of stores. We have some wonderful cycling routes for you here.
Then the cycling vacation continues and after Göcek you will cycle through a mostly flat area on quiet roads past pomegranate trees to lively Dalyan. The river delta near Dalyan is a protected nature reserve known for the Caretta Caretta turtles, which come to lay their eggs on the beach at Iztuzu....
The last 2 days of your stay in Turkey you will cycle around the nearby lake and spend the night in the cozy town of Köycegiz overlooking the lake.
