Todos los tapas

The 8-day cycling trip in Andalusia starts in the historic town of Ronda. The practical environment with idyllic white villages lends itself perfectly as a starting point for a beautiful cycling vacation through the relatively flat hinterland towards Seville.

Day to day

After arriving at Malaga airport, transfer to Ronda where you will spend the first 2 days of your cycling vacation. There is much to see in Ronda such as a beautiful park behind the arena with phenomenal views. Enjoying delicious tapas on a terrace; what more could a person want!

The first day of cycling is a great opportunity to test out the bikes. You can choose from as many as 3 different routes. A beautiful road connects Ronda via the Puerto del Viento (Pass of the Wind) to a hidden white village: El Burgo. On this tour, you can choose from 2 different routes in terms of length and difficulty (45 or 52 km). The 3rd option is a (tougher) round trip Faraján-Cartajima (48km) past imposing barren rocks with spectacular views. With a little luck, you can see Gibraltar and the Moroccan reef mountains! Of course, you can also choose to stroll around Ronda with its many terraces and delicious tapas.

Today you will head for the next overnight location in Olvera and have a choice of 2 different bike routes. You will pass several “white villages” along the way that are so characteristic of this area. Highly recommended is the village of Sentenil de Las Bodegas, assimilated into the rocks; beautiful!
Continue your way to Olvera and don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful views along the way.

Sit back and relax today! You will bike to Montellano along the Via Verde de la Sierra; a former railroad line that has been rebuilt into a bike path. Follow the old track through more than 30 rail tunnels where the lights come on automatically as soon as you cycle into them. Coripe’s former train station is a wonderful place for a cup of coffee and a sandwich. Don’t forget to look up at the circling Vultures along the way!

From Montellano, you will depart for a drive through rolling countryside. While undulating, you will cycle through a varied Spanish landscape. El Palmar de Troya offers several options for lunch after 30 km. The journey then continues on a beautiful unpaved bike path to today’s final destination: Ultrera.
Ultrera is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in a typical Spanish ambiance.

On the way to the final destination. It is good to see how people in Spain are beginning to adjust to cyclists. You cycle basically just straight on narrow roads through an agricultural environment. Seville is beautiful. Not just to be there but definitely to arrive by bike!

The cycling vacation concludes with a guided bike tour of Seville. The guide will take you to the most beautiful spots of the city and on the way there will also be a break for a (free) drink. The sightseeing tour will lead you past the many attractions. Enjoy this vibrant Spanish city!

Today your cycling vacation ends. You can also choose to add a few days of Seville.

General information

The 8-day cycling trip in Andalusia starts in the historic town of Ronda. The practical environment with idyllic white villages lends itself perfectly as a starting point for a beautiful cycling vacation through the relatively flat hinterland towards Seville. This strategically located town is built around a deep gorge. Across this gorge (El Tajo) are 3 bridges. The Puente Nuevo is the most famous of these 3 bridges. The bike ride continues to medieval Olvera, high above the surrounding plains this town looks like a true eagle's nest. After Olvera, you will cycle on the Via Verde de la Sierra. This railroad converted into a bike path is a feast for the eyes with illuminated tunnels and impressive bridges along the way. This nature reserve is also known for the colony of bearded vultures that often circle above the rocks. The Via Verde de la Sierra is also called the most beautiful Via Verde in Spain! After the town of Montellano, the bike route continues on car-free roads and across vast plains interspersed with white villages. Again, it is clear to see that the region is investing heavily in good bike lanes. As you approach Seville, it gets flatter and flatter. Seville is a city completely geared for cyclists. There are bike lanes throughout the city, making bikes the ideal means of transportation to explore this impressive city. During this 8-day bicycle tour, you will stay overnight in various ** and *** hotels on a bed and breakfast basis. 3 of the hotels have swimming pools (among other things). All hotels are situated so that dining and drinking establishments are within walking distance.
