General information
During this varied hiking trip you will hike to the most beautiful spots of this island. Serene tranquility, authentic whitewashed villages, ancient carob trees and beautiful azure bays are the ingredients for this versatile hiking trip. The high content of iron oxide in the earth , creates the characteristic red (fertile) soil on this island.
With Ibiza, unfortunately, most people still think of the party island, but that does it a serious disservice. The base for this walking tour, is a beautiful hotel, located directly on the sea in the town of Santa Eulalia. During this adventure you will explore the area of Santa Eulalia on the east side of the island. The boat will take you to the start of the walk on the west side of the island along beautiful and tempting coves: don't forget your swimming gear! Café Anita, is the island's most famous café in the town of Carles de Peralta. A walk on the southern tip of the island in the Salines National Park with its vast salt pans is also not to be missed. In the north of the island you will walk through perhaps the most authentically preserved part of the island along centuries-old olive groves, once planted by the Phoenicians. On the rest day a visit to the capital Eivissa with the old upper town Dalt Villa, the old center with its numerous small streets with boutiques and cozy tapas bars should not be missed.
The walks vary in length and often a day's program consists of 2 walks so that the (composite) length is usually around 10-15 km per day. The program is designed so that you can decide if you only want to do 1 walk on a day. Ibiza generally has an excellent network of bus connections. Sometimes we advise to take a cab to the start or at the end of the hike because the network of bus connections in some areas, is too limited. The hikes are partly on paved interior roads and unpaved paths and are suitable for anyone with a good basic condition.
