A wonderfully versatile hiking vacation!

During this varied hiking trip you will hike to the most beautiful spots of this island. Serene tranquility, authentic whitewashed villages, ancient carob trees and beautiful azure bays are the ingredients for this versatile hiking trip.

Day to day

After arriving at Ibiza airport, take a cab to the hotel in Santa Eulalia, your base for the next 8 days. Should you have an early flight, you can already explore the cozy town of Santa Eulalia. Lazing around by the pool is, of course, also a possibility.

After a sumptuous breakfast, set out for your first walk. A beautiful coastal path just behind the hotel, takes you to the center of the lively town of Santa Eulalia. On top of the hill at the old weather church Puig de Missa with remains from the Moorish period, you will have a beautiful view of the town and the river. It is hard to imagine that, not so long ago, people in this area lived from agriculture and used water mills to irrigate the fields. The water mills and the fields have largely disappeared. In an old restored mill , there is a small museum with pictures and paintings of how this area looked like half a century ago.

In the afternoon you will take the bus to the village of Santa Gertrudis, the geographical center of the island: a popular place with many boutiques and extensive food and drink. This village vomt the base for the afternoon walk through the rural interior past fincas, fig and almond trees. Afterwards, enjoy a drink on one of the many terraces before taking the bus back to Santa Eularia.

After breakfast, take the bus to the starting point of today’s hike: San Charles de Peralta. Stop in at Café Anita for a cup of tea or coffee in this famous café before starting the hike. Along the way, you will get a good idea of what it must have been like here in the past: old paths and walls, orchards and a very characteristic coastal landscape, until you plunge back into modern times in Es Canar. Es Canar is a prime spot for lunch. Every Wednesday the Hippie Market takes place here.
The last part of the walk takes you along the beautiful rugged coastline on unpaved red paths, back to the hotel.

Don’t forget to bring your swimming gear today because you will have an excellent opportunity to do so.
Today you will hike on the west side of the island and take the bus to Sant Antoni.
for a short morning walk around Santa Antoni. You will pass Café del Mar, this music temple has become synonymous with the Ibiza sound since it opened in 1980 and is world famous. Soon you leave the crowds behind and walk along an old stony cart path to a tiny chapel, on top of the mountain with beautiful views over the surrounding area.
After lunch in Sant Antoni, take the boat to Cala Pada for the 2nd part of today’s hike. Beautiful rocky cliffs alternate with picturesque coves. From the Torre d’en Rovira, an old pirate guard post, enjoy a magnificent panorama of offshore uninhabited islands. The beaches at Platges de Comte look straight out of a picture book. Your swimming gear will come in handy here!
After the circular walk, the boat will take you back from Cala Pada to Sant Antoni and take the bus back to Santa Eularia.

Hiking is on the program for today.
Laze by the pool or have lunch by the sea? It is all possible. Visiting the nearby island of Formentera by boat is, of course, also an option. You can also choose to visit the capital Eivissa with the old upper town of Dalt Vila.

You will set out today for a hike in the northern part of the island.
Santa Agnes de Corona is a beautiful area which still breathes the typical Ibiza landscape. Almond trees interspersed with lemon and orange trees emphasize the beauty of the primeval landscape. Las Puertas Del Cielo is hidden in a pine forest and forms a magnificent view of the sea. Sant Mateu still exudes a serene tranquility.
The surroundings of Sant Mateu are characterized by numerous small-scale vineyards. The village itself is among one of the smallest on the entire island.

You will conclude this hiking vacation with a visit to Parc Natural de Ses Salines for a beautiful walk along vast salt flats and beautifully formed coastal cliffs. You really are short of eyes here; one formation is even more beautiful than the other. In ancient times, these wetlands were already used by the Phoenicians for the lucrative extraction of salt. In the protected dune area we find juniper bushes and pines. In some places by the sea, you can still see remnants of old quarries where the sandstone for the city wall of Eivissa was mined. This walk can also be combined afterwards with a visit to the historic center of Eivissa: the upper town of Dalt Vila, founded by the Phoenicians 2500 years ago.

General information

During this varied hiking trip you will hike to the most beautiful spots of this island. Serene tranquility, authentic whitewashed villages, ancient carob trees and beautiful azure bays are the ingredients for this versatile hiking trip. The high content of iron oxide in the earth , creates the characteristic red (fertile) soil on this island.

With Ibiza, unfortunately, most people still think of the party island, but that does it a serious disservice. The base for this walking tour, is a beautiful hotel, located directly on the sea in the town of Santa Eulalia. During this adventure you will explore the area of Santa Eulalia on the east side of the island. The boat will take you to the start of the walk on the west side of the island along beautiful and tempting coves: don't forget your swimming gear! Café Anita, is the island's most famous café in the town of Carles de Peralta. A walk on the southern tip of the island in the Salines National Park with its vast salt pans is also not to be missed. In the north of the island you will walk through perhaps the most authentically preserved part of the island along centuries-old olive groves, once planted by the Phoenicians. On the rest day a visit to the capital Eivissa with the old upper town Dalt Villa, the old center with its numerous small streets with boutiques and cozy tapas bars should not be missed.

The walks vary in length and often a day's program consists of 2 walks so that the (composite) length is usually around 10-15 km per day. The program is designed so that you can decide if you only want to do 1 walk on a day. Ibiza generally has an excellent network of bus connections. Sometimes we advise to take a cab to the start or at the end of the hike because the network of bus connections in some areas, is too limited. The hikes are partly on paved interior roads and unpaved paths and are suitable for anyone with a good basic condition.
