Where the North Sea and Beer Meet

This unique cycling trip takes you along the most beautiful places of East Friesland and the North Sea coast, full of nature, history and atmospheric coastal towns. And as a nice bonus? Along the way you will taste the region's rich beer tradition!

Day to day

Today you will arrive in Oldenburg. In the afternoon there will be a welcome meeting and rental bikes will be handed over (if booked). Take your first stroll through the beautiful city of Oldenburg.

One overnight stay in Oldenburg.

You will cycle to Lake Zwischenahner and through the beautiful landscape of Ammerland before reaching East Friesland. Your first brewery is the “Ostfriesen Bräu” in Bagband. Enjoy a delicious dinner including 1 beer.

One overnight stay in Großefehn.

Via the “old capital” Aurich the route will lead you to Esens. Your overnight stay is in Carolinensiel or the immediate vicinity.

Today the route takes you along the North Sea coast to “Harlesiel,” “Hooksiel” and “Horumersiel,” before reaching Jever. Enjoy a beer tasting at the “Haus der Getreuen” – a location of the famous Jever beer.

One overnight stay in Jever.

Today you will have plenty of time to relax. You will cycle to Gödens Castle and on to Dangast. Later in the day you will cycle to Varel (approx. 6 km) and enjoy a pleasant evening with dinner and 1 beer (Tide-Bier included).

One overnight stay in Dangast.

Today you will make your final bike ride from Jaderberg via Rastede back to Oldenburg.

One overnight stay in Oldenburg .

The tour ends after breakfast. Individual departure or extension of your tour.

In seven days you will cycle from Oldenburg through the characteristic Ammerland to East Friesland and along the breathtaking North Sea coast. The route takes you past picturesque coastal towns such as Carolinensiel, Harlesiel and Hooksiel, as well as historic towns such as Aurich and Jever. Along the way you will enjoy the typical North German landscape: vast polders, windmills and the smell of the sea. As an additional highlight, you will get to know the rich beer tradition of the region, with visits to three authentic breweries. With daily distances of 40 to 60 kilometers, this tour is feasible for every cyclist and offers the perfect balance between effort, nature and relaxation.
