Vila Viçosa – Estremoz (50 km / 375 hm)

A stage that visits the fortified towns of Vila Vicosa, Borba and Estremoz. It begins with the marble quarries widespread here; they are not mother's finest, but offer a good picture of this important export product of the Alentejo. After Borba with its many terraces and its antique and antique stores, the route leads through beautiful rolling terrain with the occasional small village. You will end in the convivial garrison town of Estremoz.

Estremoz – Arraiolos (70 km / 425 hm)

A beautiful stage that takes you mostly on flat and slightly sloping roads to Arraiolo. You start along a ridge, leaving the hills themselves beside you. You continue your way through an almost extinct area, interspersed from time to time with picturesque rural villages. Along the way, you will initially encounter mostly vineyards and olive groves. Later, wine will increasingly be exchanged for cork. Finally comes the climb to Arriolos, lying on a hill overlooking the surroundings. The place is known for its renowned carpets.

Rest day or round trip Azaruja (65 km / 500 hm

This round trip will take you to Azaruja. This place houses the local cork processing industry. Feel free to take a look at one of the factories. The landscape here is sprinkled with stray boulders occasionally accompanied by a holm or cork oak to provide much-needed shade for livestock. The last part of the route crosses the ecopista, a former railroad line that has been converted into a bicycle-walking path.

Stage Arraiolos – Évora (50 km / 325 hm)

With a wide arc and a slightly different landscape, it is rolling along mostly small roads and endless vistas to Évora. Again, the last part is on the ecopista.

A short round trip on gently rolling roads in the immediate vicinity of Évora. This leaves you with plenty of time to explore the city further. A route with both urban and scenic character. See how the aqueduct lies like a snake in the meadow and enjoy the view at the historic mills.
